YTL Developments has today submitted a listed building application to South Gloucestershire Council, seeking approval to restore and repurpose a Grade-II Listed hangar at Filton Airfield.
The scheme, designed by conservation architects Ferguson Mann, seeks approval to restore the building originally built in 1917, insert glazed facades in the east and west elevations and a mezzanine first floor to create 20,000 sq ft of characterful office space, marketing & sales centre, and café.
The 16U Hangar, so named for its use in the 1940s, will form part of an exciting first phase of development, comprising 275 residential units designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, and a new public park designed by Grant Associates.
